Consumer Neuroscience – HRV and ECG Analysis

Heart Rate Variability Analysis

The AcqKnowledge software includes a fully-automated Heart Rate Variability analysis tool. The algorithm conforms to the frequency domain algorithm guidelines as published by the European Heart Journal.

The software reports values for the typical HRV frequency bands, including: Very Low Frequency, Low Frequency, High Frequency, and Very High Frequency ranges. The analysis also includes values for the overall ratios: Sympathetic, Vagal and Sympathetic – Vagal balance. The ratio values and frequency band results can be plotted into a Journal file or exported for further analysis.

Automated ECG Analysis

Record ECG data from one-, three-, or multi-lead montages and perform a fully automated LEAD II analysis. Use the powerful ECG averaging function to evaluate changes in the ECG complex before, during, and after exercise or dosing. Apply online calculations to investigate heart rate variability. Use automated data reduction tools to simplify analysis over user-defined time periods (max, min, mean, p-p, delta, time of max, time of min, and many more). Compare waveforms, find peaks, detect cycles, compute averages, and perform complex analysis in real time or after data acquisition. Combine ECG data with other parameters to perform a complete physiological examination.

Automated Routines Include:

  • ECG Classifier
  • Locate ECG Complex Boundaries
  • Detect and Classify Heartbeats
  • Heart Rate Variability (HRV)
  • Poincare Plot
  • Respiratory Sinus Arrhythmia (RSA)
