Visual Evoked Response (VER)

To perform Visual Evoked Response (VER) and Flash Visual Evoked Potential (FVEP) studies, use the TSD122 Stroboscope and the averaging mode in AcqKnowledge. The stroboscope will trigger the MP System or the averaging software can trigger an external stimulator. An Evoked Response or Electroencephalogram Amplifier (ERS100C, EEG100C, or wireless BN-EEG2) is used to record the evoked response while the software performs on-line averaging.

Visual Evoked Potentials (VEP) can also be evoked by a checkerboard pattern delivered via a stimulus presentation system that is synchronized with the MP Device. The potential is recorded using EEG electrodes placed over the visual cortex and the response averaged using AcqKnowledge’s averaging mode. Each time the checkerboard pattern changes, a trigger pulse is sent to the MP Device and this is used to drive the averaging process.
