Automatically Identify, Mark, and Report Seizure Episodes in Small Animal EEG Data
AcqKnowledge now includes an automated EEG seizure detection routine that employs a spike frequency technique to identify seizures. The software identifies and marks seizure spikes and counts the number of spikes that occur in a given interval. The routine can be used on short or long-term recordings and can be paired with the new wireless EPOCH EEG sensors.
The criteria for identifying a seizure are user adjustable. Once desired threshold, epoch length, and spike count measures have been specified the software will identify whether a seizure is present in an epoch. The software will mark the seizure on the waveform with a check mark, graph the seizure and spike counts, and export the results to a spreadsheet or journal file for further analysis.
See More...The exported results include spike count and seizure information for each Epoch of data. The results specify the epoch time, number of spikes present in the epoch, and whether or not a seizure occurred.
Record Wirelessly with Epoch EEG Systems and Analyze with AcqKnowledge:
• Record from conscious rats and mice in home cages
• Long term recordings (up to 6 month battery life)
• Two channel, implantable EEG
• Small sensors weigh less than 3 g

Learn a technique—Trans-radial Electrical Bioimpedance Velocimetry (TREV)—that is more user-friendly and less invasive than the transthoracic method. TREV measures blood movement in the radial and ulnar arteries of the forearm via bioimpedance.
Topics Covered:
– Presentation and discussion of TREV
– Derived Indices Relevant to TREV
– Hardware setup
– Participant setup
– Recognizing good quality and bad quality data
– Demonstration with the grip anticipation test
– Review of results from other tests
