MRI Electrodermal Activity

BIOPAC recommends disposable electrodes for EDA (EDA, GSR, SCR & SCL) recordings—EL509 with GEL101 and LEAD108B or LEAD108C will provide excellent response signals.

The electrodes work well on a variety of electrode placements: fingers, palm, and sole of the foot. The EL509 is a dry disposable electrode that requires GEL101 or a similar EDA electrode gel. Disposable electrodes with LEAD108 carbon fiber leads connect to the MECMRI-TRANS cable set that interfaces with the EDA100C-MRI amplifier and the control panel. AcqKnowledge® software includes filters for improving the quality of the EDA signal.

The EDA100C-MRI Electrodermal Activity Amplifier for MRI incorporate advanced signal processing circuitry which removes spurious MRI artifact from the source physiological data. Signal processors are able to distinguish between physiological signal and MRI artifact as manifested by gradient switching during MRI sequences, such as Shim or EPI.

Interface:

  • MECMRI-TRANS Cable and Filter Assembly
  • EDA100C-MRI  Electrodermal Activity amplifier

AcqKnowledge includes a fully automated Skin Conductance Response (SCR) analysis routine for automated analysis of the EDA signal and the MP150 system also interfaces with most major stimulus presentation systems such as E-Prime® and SuperLab®. AcqKnowledge provides a fully automated event related analysis of the EDA signal based on the stimulus presentation event marks. See the Electrodermal Activity Application area for further information about the analysis tools.
