Advanced Acquisition & Analysis Solutions for Pulmonary Function Research

Breath-by-breath CO2 and O2 gas analysis

Online and offline analysis: respiration rate, peak flow, minimum flow, volume, compliance, and resistance

AcqKnowledge airflow and lung volume data

AcqKnowledge efficiently collects all data necessary for precise lung volume measurements and detailed respiratory airflow analysis for in lab and MRI applications. Investigate breathing mechanics by examining pressure/flow and pressure/volume relationships. Analyze respiratory gas consumption and production in real time and perform calculations for a complete metabolic analysis. All recorded data is clearly displayed in dedicated graph channels with breath-by-breath values and trends, and for X/Y plotting. Following data collection, use the powerful automated analysis tools to quickly extract advanced respiratory measures such as compliance and resistance, Penh analysis and pulmonary airflow.

Volume/Flow Loop Relationships

Easily compare normal tidal breathing loops to maximum breathing loops by using the X/Y mode to plot flow versus volume.

Lung Volume Measurement

Wide variety of air flow transducers cover applications ranging from high-flow exercise physiology measurements to low-flow animal studies

Forced Expiratory Flow & Volume

Use AcqKnowledge to present the spirometry curve data as a function of time

Metabolic Analysis Script

This automated script, with the companion graph template, is used to measure metabolic parameters from a subject: air flow, CO2 & %CO2. This script requires an active AcqKnowledge Basic Scripting license and is available via download from BIOPAC (Script 052).

Use the bundled Automated Analysis tools to quickly obtain specific advanced Respiration measures. AcqKnowledge will score the waveform and export the results to a journal or spreadsheet file, or display them as new channels.

Bioimpedance and Cardiac Output with TREV—a User-friendly, Noninvasive Technique

Learn a technique—Trans-radial Electrical Bioimpedance Velocimetry (TREV)—that is more user-friendly and less invasive than the transthoracic method. TREV measures blood movement in the radial and ulnar arteries of the forearm via bioimpedance.
Topics Covered:
– Presentation and discussion of TREV
– Derived Indices Relevant to TREV
– Hardware setup
– Participant setup
– Recognizing good quality and bad quality data
– Demonstration with the grip anticipation test
– Review of results from other tests
