Scent Delivery Module(s) SDS200

Single-channel scent delivery module for olfactory stimulation. It has two modes of operation: wet or dry. In wet mode, water is added to the chamber and essential oil is used for the scent. The chamber contains an ultrasonic diffuser that mixes the oil to deliver a cool stream of scent to the participant. In dry mode, a dry scent packet is placed in the chamber and the fan delivers the scent to the participant without the need for water. The module is controlled by an MP160, or a suitable control signal. The device interfaces with stimulus presentation systems and virtual reality setups to deliver multiple scents throughout the experiment. Eight SDS200 Modules will interface with a single MP160. Each module comes with a power supply, CBL102, AFT12* (*m) 22 mm tubing to deliver the scent to the participant (Use longer length of AFT12 – 3m/10′). The interface cable connects the SDS200 Module to the included OUT8 Solid State Relay Driver.

Carbon Air Filter System SDS200FILTER

This activated carbon air filter system removes scents from the air when using the SDS200-SYS Scent Delivery System. This is perfect for labs with poor ventilation systems and no outside windows. The SDS200FILTER has two control modes.

  • Automatic control: When used with the included  OUT8, the filter can be turned ON and OFF by the MP160, stimulus presentation software, or a Virtual Reality system.
  • Manual control (stand-alone use): In manual mode, the fan operates continuously and frees up one of the 8 lines on the OUT8, which permits the use of an additional SDS200 Scent Delivery Module.

The system includes a 7.62 m length of tube and a large carbon filter, which can be placed in the same room or run out of a door. The speed of the fan can be controlled to help optimize performance and control noise levels. The fan is located at the filter end of the tubing to minimize sound at the participant end. The system includes a mounting clamp and tripod to optimize the lab setup. The SDS200FILTER interfaces with the OUT8 via an included CBL102 BNC to 3.5 mm cable.

Solid State Relay Driver OUT8

The OUT8 allows the Carbon Air Filter System to be turned ON and OFF by the MP160, stimulus presentation software, or a VR system. If the Carbon Air Filter System is set to manual mode, the fan operates continuously and frees up one of the eight lines on the OUT8, which permits the use of an additional SDS200 Scent Delivery Module.

Scent System Accessories SDS200ACC

Two manifolds for controlling and managing the tubing for up to eight (8) different scents. The manifolds stack and can be mounted on the SDS200FILTER or on the included tripod to help optimize setup.  The tripod makes mounting near the participant convenient. (Use tubing provided with each SDS200 module.)

Eye Tracking Glasses ETV

The ETVision (ETV) wearable eye tracking glasses resemble an eyeglasses frame that can be worn by itself or over the participant’s prescription eyeglasses. It contains miniature “eye cameras” that view each eye and a “scene camera” that views the scene in front of the participant, and a microphone. An optional visor can be mounted to […]
