BioNomadix Wireless PPG and EDA Transmitter

The Wireless Photo Plethysmogram (PPG) and Electrodermal Activity (EDA/GSR) BioNomadix Transmitter combines these two measurements because they are typically performed on the same part of the body and are often recorded in parallel for a variety of studies.

  • The PPG channel measures Blood Volume Pulse (BVP) via optical plethysmographic methods and provides for heart rate, inter-beat interval and vasodilation/constriction data. Heart Rate Variability (HRV) can be performed on the PPG signal data
  • The EDA/GSR channel—also known as Electrodermal Response, Skin Conductance Activity/Response or Galvanic Skin Response (GSR)—provides for indication of eccrine (skin sweating) activity.

Investigate event-related EDAs and phasic responses using AcqKnowledge‘s analysis routines. Because additional module pairs are fully isolated from one another, comparative EDA/GSR measurements are feasible. For example, EDA/GSR from one hand can be compared to those of the opposing hand. AcqKnowledge includes a fully automated electrodermal response scoring tool that locates skin conductance responses, visually identifies them in the record and measures them. It also automates event related potentials (ERP) analysis by locating the onset of the stimuli and identifying a valid SCR.

Use with the BioNomadix Logger or a matched Receiver to record one or both signals.
