Clench Force (Bulb) Transducer

The SS56L Clench Force (Bulb) Transducer measures force on the basis of the proportionality of clench force to pressure in the bulb. Because of this proportionality, units are in Kgf/m^2 or psi. This transducer is used in BSL 3.7.5 Lesson 2 (Electromyography II) and can be used with the BSL PRO software.

Optional BSL PRO Presets:

  • Clench Force - kpa (SS56L) - input value 20.48 mv scales to 34.47 kpa
  • Clench Force - psi (SS56L) - input value 61.44 mv scales to 15 psi

Grasp the pump bulb with your dominant hand—WRAP your hand around the bulb with relaxed fingers. When instructed to clench, do NOT curl fingers into bulb.
