On Demand | Stimulus Response Best Practices: Auditory, Visual, Somatosensory, Olfactory, and Thermal
This training focuses on Reaction Time (RT) theory and recording methods. Reaction time, or response time, is the time taken to respond to a stimulus that could be presented in any modality (Auditory, Visual, Somatosensory, Olfactory, and Thermal). RT is generally used to obtain insights into psychological processes like perception, information processing, and selective attention.
Join us to learn the entire process of setting up RT experiments. We will cover the theory and recording guidelines for RT, followed by demonstrations of various experimental paradigms, software and hardware setup, participant preparation, running the experiment, and analyzing the data. AcqKnowledge stimulus presentation/SuperLab software will be used for stimulus presentation and synchronizing the event markings.
What Will Be Covered:
- Introduction to RT
- Theory and guidelines
- Reflex time demonstration: Startle response
- Simple reaction time demonstration: Auditory and Visual
- Choice reaction time demonstration: Stroop task
- Selective attention task demonstration: Oddball task in virtual reality
