Join BIOPAC for the first part of this two-part series on Heart Rate Variability:

HRV | Time Domain Measures
Presenters: Sanjay Sood, Ph.D., and Frazer Findlay

This online seminar focuses on Heart Rate Variability (HRV) using time-series analysis options within AcqKnowledge software. We highlight how to record high-quality ECG and Respiration data as well as how to prepare data for automated HRV analysis. Presenters also review and show how statistical HRV provides measures for RMSSD, SDSD, and pNN50 values, as well as demonstrate the peak and valley analysis technique, using respiration and ECG signals for respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA). The Poincaré plot option is demonstrated. A preview of the new AcqKnowledge Workflow automation tool shows how it is possible to further streamline the analysis process.

A second HRV training on Frequency Domain Measures is scheduled for June 30. The benefits of the two analysis techniques and guidance on when they are most appropriate to use is covered during the theory portion of the seminar.

You Will Learn the Following:

  • Introduction to HRV
  • Theory and guidelines
  • How to record great ECG and Respiration data
  • How to prepare data for analysis
  • Time-series Respiratory Sinus Arrhythmia (peak and valley)
  • HRV Statistical Analysis (RMSSD, SDSD, pNN50)
  • Single-epoch and multi-epoch analysis
  • Automation with Scripting and Workflow
  • Focus Areas and event-based analysis
  • Poincaré Plot
