Ultra-thin optical pressure transducers reviewed

Ultra-thin optical fiber pressure transducers available from BIOPAC were evaluated excellent for measuring urethral pressure simultaneously with urinary flow rate and bladder pressure recordings in laboratory rodents. Urethral pressure recording is a valuable tool for obtaining information of the mechanisms in female rat micturition. For urethral pressure recording, the MPMS100A-2 System with TSD170 series micro pressure transducers (from Samba Sensors AB), specially designed for life science research, was tested.
