This PRO lesson describes hardware and software setup of the BSL PRO System to record the Wingate Anaerobic Test, explains the Transform menu commands to use for meaningful analysis, and details a complete Wingate Test calculation. In this lesson, the WAnT is performed on a modified, plate loaded, Monark 818E work ergometer. All data collection and analysis is done via the BIOPAC MP30 data acquisition unit and the Biopac Student Lab PRO software.
To describe the use of the BSL PRO to count and collect ergometer flywheel revolutions (pedal revolutions).
To describe the analysis of post-acquisition data.using the BSL PRO transformation options.
To illustrate a complete WAnT calculation.
Tasks Performed by the Student
Subject will pedal full-force (crank) for 30 seconds.
Add event markers throughout the recording.
The software automates the calibration procedure for the student. There are no knobs and dials to confuse the student.
Graph template files ensure consistent setup for subsequent Subjects or repeated trials—plus, you can easily add your own lesson plan to the onscreen journal.
The lesson will also work as part of a group study.

The fEMG Electromyography Smart Amplifier is designed specifically for recording facial EMG signals and electrical activity from other small muscle groups. Use with AcqKnowledge™ software to analyze facial expressions and startle paradigms. BIOPAC’s new Smart Amplifiers are designed for great data. Smart Amplifiers improve performance by amplifying the physiological signal close to the subject, which allows a high-level […]
A System to Measure Physiological Response During Social Interaction in VR Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) have a difficult experience in responding to social cues and actions. This pilot study measured the effectiveness of Virtual Reality in creating a social environment for children, measured with a BIOPAC MP Series data acquisition system and Worldviz […]
