The EGG100D Smart Amplifier is designed specifically for recording electrogastrography data. It amplifies the electrical signal resulting from stomach and intestinal smooth muscle activity and monitors the potential on the skin surrounding, or surface of, the intestine and stomach, which is indicative of the degree of slow wave contraction. AcqKnowledge™ software includes a fully automated EGG Gastric wave analysis routine for single and multi-channel EGG recordings. Smart Amplifiers are designed for great data—they improve performance by amplifying the physiological signal close to the subject, which allows a high-level voltage connection to the data acquisition system and reduces noise artifact.

Connect short-cable leads from the proven BN Series of accessories—BN-EL*-LEAD3 electrode lead if a ground electrode is required or a BN-EL*-LEAD2 electrode lead if there is already another Smart Amplifier with a ground lead on the subject—and use with disposable EL500 Series electrodes.

The EGG100D  is part of a complete research system solution. These amplifiers interface with the MP160/MP150 data acquisition & analysis platform and AcqKnowledge software, allowing advanced analysis for multiple applications—see Featured Research in ‘Details’ below.

Reduced wiring in Smart Amp setups reduces ambient and common mode noise, increases comfort, and improves the group dynamic!

AcqKnowledge Smart Amp setup includes guides and prompts to prevent errors. Plus, channels are automatically set to be plotted and included in input values display, with the initial visual range set to the min/max input range for that Smart Amplifier signal type, in appropriate units.

The Smart Amplifier may be attached to the subject either using the included Velcro backed clip or optional self-adhering straps around the subject. The amplifier terminates with a 3 m long cable and connects to the AMI100D Amplifier Input Module.

Smart Amplifiers connect to an MP160 Research System via an Amplifier Interface Module (AMI100D); Smart Amps are not compatible with MP150, MP100, HLT100C, or MP36R devices. For output, add CBL237 with OUTISO or similar. AcqKnowledge Smart Amp setup includes guides and prompts to prevent errors. Plus, channels are automatically set to be plotted and included in input values display, with the initial visual range set to the min/max input range for the Smart Amplifier signal type, in appropriate units. AcqKnowledge 5.0.4 and above support Smart Amp functionality.
