New generation fiber-optic pressure measurement systems
GÖTEBORG, SWEDEN—AUGUST 20, 2007
Samba Sensors AB, Sweden, distributed in the US and worldwide by BIOPAC, introduces new generation fiber-optic pressure measurement systems using ultra-miniature sensors—the new Samba 201 (BIOPAC MPMS100A-1) and Samba 202 (BIOPAC MPMS100A-2).
The new systems are stand-alone devices developed for high precision pressure monitoring, with a primary use in life science applications. New features include:
The new Samba system and the ultra-miniature Samba Preclin™ transducer (BIOPAC TSD170 series) is particularly useful for cardiovascular studies, e.g. to monitor real-time intravascular blood pressure (IBP), left ventricular pressure (LVP), right ventricular pressure (RVP) and right atrial pressure (RAP) in mice and other small animals. The system’s insensitivity to all forms of electro-magnetic fields offers the ability to monitor all these parameters in real time during MRI scanning.
Examples of other areas where the Samba system offers unique performance include neuro-trauma, respiratory, orthopaedic, oncology and urology research.
