High-Density Thru-the-Hair fNIRS with EEG

Date: March 22nd, 2023
Time: 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM
Venue: University of Salford

Please join us for a workshop combined with hands-on opportunities for attendees.

Agenda:

  • Principles of Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS)
  • How to carry out simultaneous fNIRS/EEG recordings (or fNIRS only)
  • Proper setup of equipment for whole-brain high density fNIRS/EEG recordings
  • How to obtain optical imaging of the motor and prefrontal cortex
  • Methods for basic analysis of brain activity with fNIRS
  • Research applications of fNIRS and EEG
  • How to integrate MedelOpt with BIOPAC devices for multimodal data acquisition
  • Systemic physiological augmented fNIRS
  • Regress Systemic activity from the neural response (short channels)
  • Combining virtual reality and FNIRS
  • Hands-on time for attendees

MedelOpt Systems have unique advantages attendees will get to explore (see specifications):

  • Easy access to scalp (no cap) for getting the best possible data through hair
  • Flexibility and cost-effectiveness: a single headset can fit any size form age 4

Time: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Venue: University of Salford

BIOPAC UK are pleased to confirm details of the first 2023 UK BIOPAC Research Systems Training Seminar.

This seminar will be at  the University of Salford on the 23rd March. The course offers a basic introduction to the BIOPAC MP System hardware and the AcqKnowledge software and is suitable for both new users and current users who wish to get a fresh overview of the many possibilities offered by BIOPAC research systems.

Training will cover core BIOPAC research systems (MP150/MP160Smart CenterBioNomadix Wireless Logger and MP36R with associated accessories). Some time will be dedicated to the use of third party devices provided and supported by BIOPAC including the EYE-ETV eye tracking glasses, fNIR systems and VR, however we are planning an advanced workshop later in the year targeted towards these system.

There will be a small fee to attend in order to cover costs. This will be £125.00 (per person, exclusive of VAT) and includes lunch and tea/coffee breaks.
