BIOPAC SYSTEMS, INC. - U.S.A.

Fully-integrated, easy-to-use, compact system collects blood pressure and extracts Systolic, Diastolic, and Mean Arterial Pressure values.

Cardiovascular insights are much easier to achieve with this new integration from BIOPAC and CNSystems. The CNAP™ technology is now fully incorporated in a single BIOPAC amplifier for the MP160 system where it can be fully controlled by AcqKnowledge Software. The new NIBP100E amplifier, utilizing CNAP clinical technology, is available soon and optimized for research.

Adding continuous, beat-by-beat, noninvasive Blood Pressure (BP) to physiology experiments helps researchers understand the cardiovascular system and conduct psychophysiology research (e.g., how blood pressure responds to threats/challenges). The extended hemodynamic values option provides continuous measures of CO, CI, SV, SI, SVR, and SVRI.

Features & Benefits:

  • Smaller footprint saves space in the lab.
  • Improved “all-in-one” user experience makes it easier for technicians to set up and control during the experiment.
  • Tight integration makes the system easier to use alone and when collecting other signals.
  • Snaps on to existing system, using same form factor of existing BIOPAC modules
  • Easy to carry to different locations.
  • Control the equipment through AcqKnowledge—intuitive for existing users.

Frazer Findlay of BIOPAC and Walter Habenbacher of CNSystems walk you through how to easily integrate noninvasive blood pressure and other hemodynamic data with multiple physiological signals. They explain the benefits of adding NIBP to experiments and complete a live demo to show you how to set up the hardware and software.

What you will learn:

  • Correct equipment set up and theory of operation
  • Principles of the CNAP measurement technology
  • How to get reproducible data
  • How to interface equipment and optimize multiple measurements
  • Automatic blood pressure analysis
  • Application of the “Focus Areas” feature in AcqKnowledge Software

Plus, see a LIVE DEMO of the integrated hardware and software used in NIBP monitoring.

CNSystems / HabenbacherAbout Walter Habenbacher
Walter was CNSystems’ Head of International Sales and Marketing. Following a Master’s degree (MSc) in Biomedical/Medical Engineering, Walter originally joined CNSystems—an Austrian medical technology company that has pioneered noninvasive hemodynamic monitoring—in 1999 as a Software engineer working with the R&D team to design the Task Force Monitor. Over his 20+ year career with CNSystems, the company expanded to reach worldwide export markets with its CNAP technology. He worked closely with global Key Opinion Leaders and users to develop and apply the technology for a wide range applications.

Frazer Findlay BIOPAC CEOAbout Frazer Findlay
Frazer Findlay is CEO of BIOPAC and has more than 25 years’ experience in life science data acquisition and analysis. Frazer is a well-regarded expert in the physiology monitoring industry and has facilitated workshops in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. He is familiar with a variety of software, equipment, and laboratory protocols for a wide array of signals and measurements. Frazer joined BIOPAC in 1996 when he moved from the UK to Santa Barbara as Domestic Sales Manager. He became CEO in 2008 and has continued to develop and grow the business while also working with physiology measurement and biometric companies to improve the physiology monitoring industry.
