New Citations | BIOPAC in EEG Studies
Electroencephalography (EEG) is a highly versatile signal in physiology research. Researchers are able to gain insight to a variety of discoveries through EEG data. Below, we highlighted some recent physiology studies that used BIOPAC equipment to record EEG in a wide array of research, from understanding sport sponsorship to bettering treatment for brain injuries…
From Sensation to Emotion: A Neuromarketing Study of Sport Sponsorship Effects. Sport Marketing Quarterly, 33(2), 99-115. Lee, S., Kim, K., Hyun, Y. J., & Park, B. (2024).
This study attempts to use EEG and traditional response hierarchy models in order to better understand the benefits of sponsoring at sports events and measure the effects. Researchers measured EEG with a BIOPAC system and software during a sporting game, paying attention to participants’ arousal and emotion.
Burst-Suppression EEG Reactivity to Photic Stimulation—A Translational Biomarker in Hypoxic-Ischemic Brain Injury. Biomolecules, 14(8), 953. Pâslaru, A. C., Călin, A., Morozan, V. P., Stancu, M., Tofan, L., Panaitescu, A. M., Zăgrean, A.M., Zăgrean, L., & Moldovan, M. (2024).
Researchers studied ways to improve therapeutic treatment for patients with hypoxic-ischemic brain injury (HIBI). Reactivity of EEG to external stimuli is impaired in these patients and they show burst-suppression (BS) patterns. Researchers decided to measure BS reactivity along with the time spent in suppression in mice with HIBI, as a translational marker for patients with HIBI. The time spent in suppression was measured through EEG with a complete BIOPAC EEG research system.
EEG-based online finger movement identification: An emerging assistive approach. Verma, A. K., Upadhyay, D., Anand, R. S., & Sharma, A. In Convergence of Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things for Industrial Automation (pp. 191-207). CRC Press.
This study aimed to improve BCI assistance by developing a model to purify EEG signals to better identify specific brain commands. The developed method of purification was used to detect finger movement in participants. EEG was recorded using a 10-channel EEG amplifier from BIOPAC.
