Instrumentation Design – BME
The signal processing breadboard (SS39L) expands the functionality of the BSL System so that students can build and test real-world signal processing circuit modules and then verify their performance against mathematical simulation using graphical comparisons. Students can combine circuit modules, collect physiological signals and then analyze the results. Each circuit module constitutes an important subset of circuit design when recording and processing physiological signals. The modules can be combined in a step-by-step fashion to create a variety of sophisticated and functional signal processing systems. The BSL system is used like an oscilloscope to make measurements for module evaluation.
The Breadboard Lab Book includes schematics and design notes for the following projects:
- Square Wave Oscillator
- Instrumentation Amplifier—video 1
- Active Filter: High Pass
- Active Gain Block & Low Pass
- Notch Filter for 50/60 Hz Rejection—video 2
- QRS Detection: Band Pass Filter—video 3
- QRS Detection: Absolute Value Circuit—video 4
- QRS Detection: Low Pass Filter and Overall System Test—video 5

Custom Input/Output | Use these kits to adapt third-party transducers to the CH inputs on BIOPAC's MP36/36R . Kits include a Simple Sensor connector, cable. and components to properly interface with full, half, or quarter bridge transducers (pressure, force, strain, acceleration, sound, etc.). See the Transducer Connector Interface Series for existing transducer interface options | |
BME Breadboard Kit | The SS39L Signal Processing Breadboard includes all parts required to complete the Signal Processing Lab Set (BSL PRO H25-H26), an important subset of circuit design when recording and processing physiological signals: Square Wave Oscillator, Instrumentation Amplifier, Active Filter: High Pass, Active Gain Block & Low Pass, Notch Filter for 50/60 Hz Rejection, QRS Detection: Band Pass Filter, QRS Detection: Absolute Value Circuit,… | $585.00Add to cart |
Signal Inputs Cable – Breadboard to MP3X | Use this signal cable to add signal inputs to BSL Breadboards (BSL-BBOARD or SS39L) . The SS60LB* cable uses resistor values of 806 KOhms and 226 KOhms, an improvement that enables the signal probe to more accurately test any part of a circuit and work with all BME breadboard lessons, inckuding the H40 EMG-Controlled RObotic Arm… | $185.00Add to cart |
