Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics – Human

Combine a wide range of Respiratory System & Pulmonary Function signals with biomechanical data. Use the new Gas Analysis System for online analysis of expired O2 and CO2  levels. Options are available for continuous blood pressure and cardiac output, and the system easily interfaces with force plates and other instrumentation (more than 18 ready-made connectors available). There are more than 20 specialized lessons.

Disposable Bacterial Filters Disposable bacteriological filters for use with 22 mm breathing circuits, such as BIOPAC pneumotach transducers SS11LA, TSD117, or SS11. These filters remove airborne bacteria. Pore size—VFE: 3.1 micron; BFE: 2.8 micron MRI Use: MR Safe (see Specifications for components)

$48.00 - $745.00Select options

Disposable Mouthpiece These mouthpieces connect to the TSD117 pneumotach transducer and other 22 mm breathing circuits. Connects directly to the AFT1 bacterial filter, AFT22 non-rebreathing T valve (via AFT11C) and the TSD117 air flow transducer. (Pkg. 10 or 250) MRI Use: MR Safe (see Specifications for components)

$17.00 - $182.00Select options

Disposable Noseclip These nose clips gently squeeze the nostrils shut to prevent errors when using mouth-breathing circuits. Available in packs of 10 or 250. MRI Use: MR Safe (see Specifications for components)

$19.00 - $242.00Select options

General-purpose Electrodes These pre-gelled disposable electrodes have a circular contact and are most suitable for short-term recordings, including surface EMG, ECG, EOG, etc. The small vinyl backing allows close electrode placement where necessary, and a slightly less firm adhesive allows "ouchless" removal. The electrodes incorporate liquid electrolyte gel and moderately-high chloride salt concentration for quick, accurate readings.…

Bioimpedance Strip Electrodes This disposable strip electrode is used for bioimpedance applications. Each carbon film strip electrode uses isotonic hydrogel to adhere to the participant and provide a conductive medium. The electrodes have a fabric backing for added comfort and conformity to the subject. The electrode uses a snap fit stud for easy interfacing with BIOPAC electrode leads. Advantages of…

Goniometers & Torsiometers – MP3X/45 Dual-axis devices provide simultaneous measurements around two orthogonal rotational axes and single output devices measure axial rotation about a single plane. Use with MP3X or MP45 unit. SS20L and SS21L dual-axis goniometers measure limb angular movement (e.g., wrist flexion/extension and radial/ulnar deviations). SS22L and SS23L single-axis torsiometers measure forearm pronation/supination. SS24L single-axis goniometer measure joint movement…

Accelerometers – MP3X Tri-axial Accelerometers connect directly to the MP3X unit to provide three outputs, each simultaneously measuring accelerations in the X, Y, and Z directions, requiring no additional amplification. One input channel is required for each output—three input channels are required to measure each axis simultaneously. The accelerometers have a frequency response which extends from DC to…

Cal. Syringe, 600 ml Medium pump syringe used for injecting a precise volume of air (600 ml) through airflow assemblies for precise calibration. The AFT6A fits (ridged) 27 mm OD, 30 mm OD, and 15 mm ID. Fits directly to AFT13 (30 mm) filter and mouthpiece AFT23 (27 mm) non-rebreathing T-valve with replacement valves Use coupler AFT11A to connect…

Lead set, shielded, BSL This fully-shielded cable assembly permits high resolution recording of biopotentials using our EL500 series disposable electrodes. The 2 meter adapter is terminated with standard pinch connectors to interface with EL500 series snap electrodes. The SS2LB interfaces with Biopac Student Lab data acquisition units (MP3X or MP45) and the MP36R research unit. Compatible releases BSL Lessons…

Finger Goniometer 35 mm – MP3X/45 SS24L is used to measure finger joint movement. The gauge mechanism in this single-axis goniometer allows for accurate measurement of polycentric joints. Telescopic endblocks compensate for changes in distance between the two mounting points as the limb moves.  One MP3X/45 channel is required for output. Use medical adhesive tape (TAPE2) to attach to the body. See…

Heel/Toe Strike Transducer – MP3X/46/45 Use this transducer to record heel and toe strike activity as the subject walks. The SS28LA uses two force sensitive resistors (FSR); typically, one FSR is attached to the sole of a shoe at the heel and the other FSR is attached at the toes. The FSRs indicate the precise pressure placed on the heel…

Stethoscope for BSL The BSL Stethoscope was developed to teach students the standard procedure for listening to heart sounds and Korotkoff sounds with a normal stethoscope and at the same time record sound data. A microphone in the stethoscope simultaneously records the sound the student is hearing, and the BSL software will display the soundwave during and after…

Noninvasive Cardiac Output Sensor – MP3X The SS31LA simultaneously measures Impedance Magnitude (Zo; labeled “Z” on the module) and Derivative of Impedance Magnitude (dZ/dt; labeled “DZ” on the module). The SS31LA noninvasively records the parameters associated with Cardiac Output measurements. Measure changes in Cardiac Output under a variety of conditions: laying down, sitting up, standing up, and post-exercise. Use the Kubicek…
