Preferred Workstation - Power and Performance for your VR Lab
The Preferred Workstation includes a VR workstation computer with high-end graphics card and rendering processor, plus a built-in parallel port and a 20" flat panel monitor. The system is fully optimized and configured with the VR Starter Suite and Vizard Toolkit. The system includes everything you need to start your VR lab, except for a head mounted display.
The Preferred Workstation comes completely loaded with the VR Starter Suite. The VR Starter Suite includes the essentials for starting your VR lab. There are several detailed sample programs that allow you to accelerate your development effort. The communications utility between the WorldViz software and BIOPAC data acquisition hardware is installed and operates with the Tutorial Demonstration VR Worlds that are also part of the program.
The Tutorial Demonstration VR worlds allow you to start running experiments the moment you receive your system. The graphics-rich executable programs cover a range of immersive worlds for a variety of applications. The Vizard Virtual Reality Toolkit is everything you need to build complete, interactive 3D content or to run the Tutorial Demonstration VR Worlds that are included. Designed for rapid prototyping, Vizard gets you creating fast and provides the resources to deploy even the most challenging applications. With Vizard, even someone with no programming experience can leap into the world of interactive 3D content and soon discover what it's like to have an untethered imagination.
The Preferred Workstation includes two-way communications between the virtual world and the BIOPAC MP150 data acquisition system. The VR Starter Suite includes an optically isolated interface (STP100C) that connects the MP150 to the parallel port of the workstation. This link allows the VR workstation to send specific marker information to the MP150 system. The AcqKnowledge software (included with the MP150 system) uses the marker information for automated analysis of the subject response data. The MP150 system can also send digital data back to the VR world for biofeedback. It is possible to control the virtual world based on the physiological responses coming from the subject.
