VEP Lesson Updated

BIOPAC's Visual Evoked Potential lesson guides students to record a baseline and two experimental Visual Evoked Potentials segments.

H22 Visual Evoked Response

Each experimental segment presents a visual stimulus to a human subject and runs at least one minute so that over 100 strobe flashes (at 2 Hz rate) are output and the BSL System records at least one hundred electrical responses from the subject's visual nervous system. A typical VEP response comprises a well-defined peak at around 100 milliseconds; this peak is often called P100.

This VEP lesson (P100 test) uses a Biopac Student Lab System, stroboscope, and lead set with disposable electrodes. The lesson has been updated to use enhanced setup and measurement features available in the current release of Biopac Student Lab. It's easy to add recording segments or analysis for further investigation.
