fNIR Functional Near Infrared Optical Brain Imaging Data Collection System

The fNIR200 is a complete data collection solution for functional near infrared studies. fNIR optical imaging technology measures hemodynamic response and neural activity in the prefrontal cortex. The system includes the fNIR100 functional brain imaging system with AcqKnowledge 4 software—plus a zero footprint computer, 15" operator monitor, and operator's caddy. fNIR is suitable for a wide range of applications, including Human Performance Assessment, Neurorehabilitation, Depth of Anesthesia Monitoring, and Brain Computer Interface.

The fNIR data combines with other physiological variables such as ECG, respiration, cardiac output, blood pressure, electrodermal activity and stimulus response markers. AcqKnowledge software provides automated analysis tools for event related potentials and ensemble averaging. Combining the fNIR data with the other physiological signals provides researchers with a detailed subject assessment.

Caddy supports fNIR100 optical brain imaging (NIRS) system

The fNIR100 System includes a control unit and sensor transducer for continuous NIR spectroscopy (NIRS) with software to view the data in real time and save it for post acquisition analysis. The device provides 16 channels of information through 4 light sources and 10 detectors. The fNIR100 stand-alone functional brain imaging system for continuous NIR spectroscopy (NIRS) provides an in-lab cognitive function assessment. It eliminates a great many of the drawbacks of a functional MRI. The subject can sit in front of a computer and take a test or perform mobile tasks. It integrates with stimulus presentation systems and BIOPACs virtual reality products.

Subject's wear an fNIR sensor (four IR light sources and ten detectors mounted in a flexible band) on the forehead that detects oxygen levels in the prefrontal cortex and provides real-time values for oxy-hemoglobin and deoxygenated hemoglobin. It provides a continuous and real-time display of the oxygen changes as the subject performs different tasks.

Caddy supports the zero footprint computer and 15" operator monitor included with the system.
