IMPORTANT: Always follow the manufacturer's directions.
Probes
Clean immersion temperature probes using standard liquid disinfectant methods, with direct immersion for the recommended period.
Wipe down non-immersion probes with liquid disinfectant or alcohol.
Resuable Needle Electrodes
Autoclave Exposure Temperature: 127 deg C Exposure Time: 20 minutes
Ethylene Oxide (EO) Temp range: 51-56 deg C Vacuum: 40.64 cm Hg Relative Humidity: 50% +/- 10% Humidity dwell: 77 minutes EO gas: 12/88 Oxifume Gas Exposure rise: 12 psig Exposure time: 105 minutes
Airwashes Evacuate to 40.64cm Hg and slow release to atmospheric pressure; repeat for a total of three times.
Thermoplastic rubber mouthpieces and couplers
Mouthpieces and couplers are supplied non-sterile and should be sterilized before use for pulmonary equipment interconnects.
Acceptable sterilization techniques
Autoclaving - preferred method 250°F for 14 minutes or 240°F for 23 minutes
Ethylene Oxide 125-131°F Ethylene oxide aeration time is greatly dependent on the size of the master carton and its permeability. One week is the minimum requirement to bring the EtO residuals below 1 PPM as tested by the standards liquid extraction method. If the product is heated to 123-135 F in an aeration chamber with high airflow, the time can be accelerated to as little as four days.
Inspect after sterilization for deterioration. Dispose if damaged.
