This pack includes one TSD250 VMG transducer, AcqKnowledge software with a VMG License, and BSL-TCI23 transducer interface to connect to the MP36R. VMG software is optimized for the TSD250 and BIOPAC will not support or guarantee the performance of third-party transducers. The pack provides sensitive microelectromechanical (MEMS) accelerometers and advanced signal analysis algorithms to monitor muscle vibration. The technique allows researchers to study muscle performance and strength balance.
The accelerometers are placed over the muscle belly and held in place* to record the small vibrations that occur when the muscle is activated. AcqKnowledge software uses wavelet packet analysis to extract the vibrational components that correlate with the effort generated by the muscle being studied. AcqKnowledge includes automated VMG analysis filters to simplify the analysis process.
VMG provides extremely reproducible results. The single sensor solution and the lack of skin preparation improve the reliability and reproducibility of muscle effort recordings between muscles and across subjects.
Benefits
Ability to perform muscle balance assessments
Improved reproducibility between muscles and individuals
Convenient setup
Reduced setup time
Improved subject comfort
No electrodes
No skin preparation
Interface
MP36: Direct connection.
* Transducer can be secured with a variety of attachment methods (not included), such as double-sided adhesive tape, Ace® bandages
and Nylatex® wraps (2.5” or 4” width suggested). Do not use excessive pressure in securing the transducers—snug enough not to move
is adequate.
